This month’s example is a very simple but effective Christmas card which requires little effort for a very pretty result.

This is a very simple card

You will need the following:
• A folded blue polka dot card A6 size
• Some navy blue card
• Some silver holographic card
• A small fir tree stamp
• Versamark embossing ink
• Winter Wonderland embossing powder
• Heat gun
• Some small peel-off stars and snowflakes
• Peel-off greeting
• Small pale blue bow
• Glue dot
• Double-sided sticky tape
• Some double-sided foam pads in 1mm and 2mm thickness

1. Before stamping on dark card it is advisable to rub an anti-static pad across it. This will prevent the embossing powder sticking where you don’t want it. On a piece of navy card using the fir tree stamp (which incidentally is one of my favourite and most used Christmas stamps), and the Fersamark ink, stamp three trees with a space between them. Then stamp two more trees a little lower down in-between and overlapping the first three.
2. Cover the images with the winter wonderland embossing powder and, using the heat gun, melt the powder. As the powder melts it turns whiter and sparkles so it is easy to see when it is ready. (Caution: do not overheat as the image will flatten).
3. Trim the image down to 10cm x 4cm and using double-sided sticky tape, matte onto the silver card, leaving a small silver border.
4. Cut another piece of blue card 10cm x 6.5cm and matte this piece onto silver card, leaving the same silver border.
5. Using the base card in landscape, attach the larger matted blue piece to the top left-hand side, leaving about three quarters of a centimetre above and to the left of the piece.
6. Attach the tree piece with sticky pads with equal distance from the top and the bottom of the first blue piece but to the right-hand side of the card, as shown. Make sure you use the 1mm pads where the tree piece overlaps the plain piece and 2mm pads where it sits directly onto the card.
7. Stick your peel-off greeting onto a scrap of blue card and matte with double-sided tape onto some silver card, leaving a small border as before.
8. Attach to the bottom right-hand side of the card with 1mm pads, as shown.
9. Finish by placing some tiny stars, (the ones I used were from an old Christmas peel-off sheet), and three tiny snowflakes, also from a Christmas greetings sheet.
10. Finally attach the bow with a glue dot in the top left-hand corner as shown.

Well, I think you will agree that this is a very simple card and easy to ‘batch’ make for any of you who find you’re short of a few Christmas Cards.
