Fundraising In Arboleas, Caring For Everyone (F.A.C.E.), has expressed its sadness at the news that its Vice President Maureen Gorman is retiring.

Maureen has been with F.A.C.E from its inception. She was very involved in the original idea, several years ago, which was to raise money by taking part in the “MacMillan Biggest Coffee Morning in the World”. From these humble beginnings, when the first event was held in various residents’ gardens in Arboleas F.A.C.E evolved, with Maureen as Vice-President right from the beginning.

Over the years Maureen has been instrumental in helping to raise money for worthwhile local and national, charities including Mojacar Area Cancer Support (MACS), the AECC Spanish National Cancer Charity, ALCER (a Spanish association which assists people with renal problems) and ACASA - Age Concern España.

After more or less 10 years of dedicated work, and now F.A.C.E. Is a firmly established local charity, Maureen felt it was now time to stand down. She intends to spend more time with her husband Stuart.

F.A.C.E. thanked Maureen for her dedication throughout her term of service.

The charity’s new Vice-President is Nancy Brewder.
