There were no reports of pickets or incidents, and the day was much like any other, with shops, supermarkets, cafés and restaurants open for business. In Garrucha, the fishing fleet went out as normal, and health services, schools and the Town Hall were hardly affected; five out of the 26 teachers at the La Hispanidad school did strike for the day. It was much the same story in Huércal-Overa Town Hall, although many of the municipality’s students supported the strike action and 32 staff at the La Inmaculada hospital did not turn up to work.

In Mojácar, only two Town Hall staff out of 132 went on strike, and it was essentially business as usual in the schools. One bank closed its doors to the public for the day, but staff were at their desks.
