She still believed in him ...

...and had worked tirelessly to meet George's needs. However, now in poor health Beth had to accept assistance. George made the arrangements and although still suffering, her life became easier. 

When she eventually took a turn for the worse George took her to the hospital. After an injection, with George cradling her head, she looked into his unseeing eyes welling up with tears and as she slipped away she realised he still believed in her.

When Bernie, Beth's understudy, saw George with Beth's empty harness he knew it was time for him to take charge.
