Albox had a bad December as far as their results went: two defeats and a home draw was not title winning form, so three points were badly needed.

If Albox is going to stay in the top three places in the league they need to get a goal scorer very quickly!

The game started very poorly, with both sides not playing much football and Albox looking short of confidence. Albox opened the Huércal defense with some neat football, but missed a great chance to take open the scoring This was to be the pattern for the whole of the first half, with Albox creating chance after chance, only to waste them all.

The second half continued the same as the first, with Albox missing chance after chance - the crowd was beginning to think the home side would pay for their missed chances. On 75 minutes Albox got the all important goal they needed with a well placed header from a free kick: 1-0 Albox. Straight after taking the lead Albox had a great chance to score. But once again they failed to take the chance.

The last few minutes were all pressure from the visitors as they tried to get the goal they needed to get a point from the game. But the home side held on to their lead.

If Albox is going to stay in the top three places in the league they need to get a goal scorer very quickly!

ALBOX V GARRUCHA (2-1)

Sunday 31st January

Albox needed to get back to winning ways after their defeat away to league leaders Los Molinos the previous week, losing 3-1.

So to the game on the 31st January. Cold and windy were the conditions, with which neither team coped very well.

The first chance came to Albox on seven minutes from a well taken free kick. The next chance did not come until the 25th minute via a terrific strike from the Albox forward.

Garrucha broke clear from the attack by Albox to gain a penalty, this hitting the post to the relief of the Albox team. This brought the best bit of play from Albox as they put a lot of pressure on the Garrucha defence, trying to get the all important first goal. Half time was almost on us when Albox missed yet another chance to take the lead.

The second half began with the away keeper making a very good save to keep the score level. Albox got the goal they were looking for on 55 minutes, with a well taken chance by the Albox number 11.

With only six minutes to go, Garrucha scored a goal after some bad defending by Albox, so was this to be points lost again. Albox went all out to try and get the winning goal, and this came from a corner in the dying seconds. So Albox got the win, with the needed 2-1.
